It is possible to find an Old Key using a Metal Detector. Purchasing a Metal Detector requires a Metal Detector License for 500 Permit Points and 6,600 Dinks. Wander around the island using the Metal Detector until you find a barrel with Old Key in it. After you get the Old keys, here’s what to do with is:

  • The island has a variety of hidden items to discover. One of such hidden items is locked behind the doors of Deep Mines.
  • The purpose of getting an Old Key is to unlock those doors.
  • Purchase a Deep Mining Mining License from Fletch for 3,500 PP. Now build a Quarry to enter the Deep Mines.
  • To build a quarry, you might need to unlock it from Franklyn by offering him Shiny Discs.
  • After unlocking the recipe for Quarry, collect these resources to build it:
    • 5x Old Gears
    • 3x Old Springs
    • 1x Old Contraption
    • 1x Button Board
    • 1x Old Toy
  • As soon as the Quarry is built, enter the Deep Mines and stay careful of the creatures inside.
  • There are more than 60 locked doors. Use the Old Keys in front of those locked doors to claim the hidden items.
