Ogre Horn, originally known as the Lump’s War Horn in Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the most useful equipment you will find across all three Acts. Even though it has some limitations, this horn can serve pretty well during the early game period. Since it can’t be used outside of Act 1 Areas and isn’t much of a reusable tool, you must use it carefully.
So to help you choose the right battles (or fights), here are the best places to use the Ogre Horn in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Here are the Best Fights Where you can Use Ogre Horn in BG3
It is important to know that the Ogre Horn won’t work in areas like Underdark, Grymforge, and Mountain Pass. These locations lie outside the Act 1 areas and it’s also out of Horn’s range. So the Ogre won’t show up if you blow the horn in Act 2 or Act 3. Keeping this in mind, these are the fights that we consider as the best place of use for the Ogre Horn, or Lump War’s Horn in Baldur’s Gate 3:
The Goblin Camp, Against the Three Leaders
While inside the Goblin Camp, you will find yourself surrounded by plenty of hostile Goblins immediately after siding with Halsin. You can clear out all the Goblins on your own, so I suppose it’s better to use the Ogre Horn against bigger foes. The three Goblin Leaders – Minthara, Dror Ragzlin, and Priestess Gut will give you a tough time in clearing out the Goblin Camp. While you can take care of Minthara and Priestess Gut, Dror Ragzlin is pretty hard to defeat.
So while squaring off against Dror, I suggest you blow the Ogre Horn in Baldur’s Gate 3. Also, let me tell you that if you have chosen to side with the Druids in taking out the Goblin Camp, you won’t be able to Recruit and Romance Minthara.
Against the Druids
In case you have changed your mind and want to side with the Goblins instead, then be ready to go to war against the Druids. Clearing out the Druid Camp is going to be very exhausting and overwhelming as there are going to be a lot of them. So to wipe off the Druids from their existence, you can use the Ogre Horn in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Against the Githyanki Patrol
The Githyanki Race is known for their boiling blood and never-ending thirst for violence. And while exploring the north of Blighted Village, you will come across a lot of them. This fight against them is going to be so crazy that even the Ogres will feel overpowered by the Githyankis. But with your party and the Ogre fighting side by side, the fight will be in your favor all the time.
In Whispering Depths, Against the Spiders
After investigating the well in Blighted Village, you will soon find yourself in the Whispering Depths area. Wherein you will find Phase Spiders who are going to make you regret choosing this quest. But if you choose to use the Ogre Horn in this area of Baldur’s Gate 3, then you are definitely winning the fight.
Since the Phase Spiders can teleport, you will struggle with your limited movement there. With Ogres around you, the Spiders will have more enemies to target, allowing you to charge an attack on them.
Note: Keep in mind that if 1 out of 3 Ogre dies, then the next time you call them, only 2 will appear.
According to me, these are some of the best places to use the Ogre Horn in Baldur’s Gate 3. For information like the one you just saw, be sure to stay connected with us.
