While classic melee damage and brutal ranged attacks are fun, you may prefer to spare your enemy’s life. Well, there is a way to do this. You can do Non-lethal damage in Baldur’s Gate 3 that simply makes your enemies unconscious. Rather than killing your enemies, it merely knocks them out. Once they are out of senses, you can loot their items and sell them at the nearest Merchant. So, if you are feeling generous, check out our guide on how to toggle Non-lethal damage or attacks in BG3.
How to Toggle Non-Lethal Damage in Baldur’s Gate 3
Follow the below steps to toggle Non-lethal damage in BG3:
- First, go to the “Passives” tab at the bottom of your screen.
- Then, select the “Toggle Non-Lethal Attacks” option.
- Now, go towards your target and attack it with your melee weapon.
- This will result in Non-lethal damage causing the enemy to get knocked out of consciousness.
Non-lethal attacks can only be caused with melee weapons and not ranged or magic attacks. So, make sure that you are prepared to rain blows in close combat. However, note that once you use this toggle, all your party members will also use non-lethal attacks in Baldur’s Gate 3. So, it is not restricted to the character that you are using but the whole party.
To switch back to lethal damage, all you need to do is go back to the Passives tab and press the toggle button again. You must also remember that non-lethal attacks will not work on the undead and constructs. This is because they can’t be knocked out as they don’t have a conscious state, to begin with.
