What is the Kinship Gauge in Monster Hunter Stories 2?

The Kinship Gauge is a circular meter at the bottom of the screen. This gauge will fill up as and when you land successful head-to-head and double attacks on opponent monsters. Once the gauge is full you will be able to use a special attack using your Monstie. This skill is known as the Kinship Skill. During a match you can level up your Kinship Gauge to level 3.

How to use Kinship Gauge points?

  • Special Attacks: Once your Kinship Gauge fills up in Monster Hunter Stories 2 you will be able to use special attacks in the game. These special attacks will deal a massive amount of damage to your enemies. You will be able to incapacitate all the monsters with ease or sap a huge amount of their HP using the special attacks.
  • Double Kinship Attacks: If you have an NPC companion you can even boost their special attack. The NPC will perform their special attack immediately after yours. This will deal a huge amount of damage to your enemy and allow you to land a succession of attacks.
  • Ride your Monstie: You will also be able to mount and ride on your Monstie. If you can stay on your Monstie while it attacks, you will be able to increase your Kinship Gauge level even more.
