Such as the Invasion, which fans are coming across for the first time and wondering about how it works. If you are also unaware of this mode’s mechanics then we are here to help. In this article, we’ll walk you through all the aspects of Invasion Mode and how it works in Modern Warfare 2 (MW2).
What is Invasion Mode in COD MW2?
Invasion Mode in Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) works similarly to Ground War Mode which you’d have seen in the previous COD titles. This new Team Deathmatch features 20v20 fights, where you’ll come across 20 AI players & 20 actual Players on a huge map. These 20 players will be further divided into 5 squads consisting of 4 players. However, the spawns of the AI-controlled players will be random. So you might also fight alongside some AI Soldiers. Here your main goal will be to reach 1,000 points first to win the match. For your reference here’s a small points breakdown that you can follow to win the matches easily in the game.
- Taking down UAVs, Counter UAVs, Support Chopper, and more will get you 2 points.
- Killing a player or destroying a player-controlled vehicle will get you 5 points.
- Shooting down Chopper Gunner, VTOLs, and more will get you 3 points.
- Killing the AI Controlled bots will get you 1 point each.
You can easily tell difference between the Real & AI Soldiers by viewing the Tac Map. There, the players with Triangle are the Real companions and those who have a small dot-like circle are the Bots. So make sure you are well-equipped to eliminate all those who come your way.
