You have to Increase your approval if you want to see growth in your population in this game. On the top left corner of the screen, next to the home and people icons, you can see a thumbs up symbol the higher this is the more approval you have from your village. And this decides how many families will move into your village the next month. The range you are looking for is as follows:

  • 50%-74% (Decent Approval): Ideally if you want stable growth you should keep your approval in this range. Each month 1 new family will be added to your village.
  • 75% and above (Good Approval): You should go for this if you want your village to grow rapidly. This lets you get 2 new families every month.

However, just increasing it one time isn’t enough, you also need to make sure you maintain this rating. Some of the things that you need to keep in mind for it include:

  • Making Burgage Plots: Burgage Plots are essential for new families because it is not only where they set up their home but also a means of passive income. Make sure you have at least 1 if not 2 Burgage Plots available (depending on your approval rating) than the families currently living in your village, to allow new ones to move in.
  • Have Food Supply: The more food item options you have available the better. Try having at least 2 food options like Bread, Berries, Meat, or others at food stalls in your marketplace.
  • Have Fuel Supply: Just like food, the families in your village require fuel to live through the winter. Make sure you rack up a lot of it because it gets consumed twice as fast during the cold.

Aside from the above necessities, if you want to further improve your Approval you can also do this.

  • Set up Clothing Stalls.
  • Have a Church in your Village.
  • Make roads that help their traversal and jobs easier.

Just make sure you don’t overgrow your Village’s population. This is because this will lead them to use up the food and fuel resources faster. Which in turn will lead to the death of your villagers and eventually reduce your Approval rating.

That is all for how you can grow the population in Manor Lords. If your settlement is thriving don’t forget to upgrade your Burgage Plots to level 2. This will allow you to unlock more job options for your workers!
