Hogwarts Legacy: How To Identify Gear Items (Unidentified)

Updated Date :

Hogwarts Legacy features tons of gameplay mechanics with a dose of nostalgic spells and charms. As you complete different quests and side quests, you will come across several unidentified gear pieces and items. These gear would simply have a question mark on them. To use these gear items and resources, you will have to decipher their magic. And sadly, you cannot use the Revelio Charm to reveal these objects. But with these items stacking up your inventory, is there a way to identify them? Not to worry, check out our guide on how to identify Gear in Hogwarts Legacy to find out.

How to Identify the Unidentified Gear in Hogwarts Legacy

You can identify the gear and items by using the Desk of Description in Hogwarts Legacy. You can find the Desk of Description inside the Room of Requirement. But to use it, you have to complete the Room of Requirement quest. You can get this quest by completing the Flying Class quest and looking for the Owl Letter from Professor Weasley. You simply have to meet him to unlock the Room of Requirement.

Once you have unlocked the Room, you can access the Desk of Description inside it. As soon as you get an unidentified gear or item, head over to the Room of Requirement and head to the Desk of Description. You have to interact with the Desk to identify your gear.

This desk would reveal all the unidentified gear pieces, equipment, or items in your inventory. So, you don’t have to worry about identifying every single one of unidentified gear. Also, note that rather than selling unidentified gear, we recommend using the Desk of Description to reveal them. While these items can have a low rarity, they might have better stats. This can help you level up faster in Hogwarts Legacy.
