How To Get And Use Truffles In Stardew Valley

With a base sell price of 625g, farming Stardew Valley Truffles is one of the fastest ways to make money. Depending on the star rarity of the mushroom, the cost will go above a thousand. Even though it is a gourmet type, it is used to produce artisan goods, which are sold for even better prices. Like the other kinds of mushrooms, you don’t forage it from outside the farm. It is found or produced by an animal, whose use you might still be looking for.

Truffles are left by the matured and fed pigs of the farm outside the barn. They will be leaving it on the tiles without any flooring or items, so when you take them outside, make sure you have free space. Pigs live in the Deluxe Barn which is upgraded from the Big Barn using 25,000g, 550 Wood, and 300 Stone. Once you have built this barn, go to the Marnie’s Ranch and purchase a pig for 16,000g. Alternatively, you can buy these mushrooms from the Traveling Cart for 1,875 -3,125g, but they rarely appear in stock.

Truffle Production Rate in SDV

There is a 99.9% chance for the pig to leave the first Truffle of the day if it is roaming on many free tiles. After the first one, the rate will depend on the Friendship. The formula to find the rate is Animal Friendship/1500. This means if you have 1000 (Max) Friendship points, there is a 66% chance for it to drop a Truffle. On average, the number of mushrooms max happiness pig drops is three.

Does Weather and Season Affect the Produce?

Yes, season and weather both have an impact on it. Pigs wouldn’t produce it in stormy and rainy weather. They wouldn’t also give it in the Winter.

What Profession is Best for Gathering Truffles?

Gatherer and Rancher are the most beneficial professions for those who want to farm this mushroom. Gatherer lets you harvest double, and Rancher increases the rarity to iridium.

Does Collecting Truffles Give Foraging Exp in SDV?

Yes, they are one of the most unique kinds of mushrooms that are not considered foraged items but give Foraging EXP when picked up. However, they wouldn’t naturally occur like others, you have to use the above-given method to produce them.

How to Use Truffles in Stardew Valley

  • Truffles can be gifted to Leah, she loves them. For the rest of the villagers, however, it is a neutral gift and is hated only by Maru.
  • You can put this mushroom in an Oil Maker to get Truffle Oil. These oils are sold further for a price of 1065g at the base and 1,491g at Artisan.
  • You can sell each base quality Truffle for 625g, silver for 781g, gold for 937g, and iridium for 1,250g.
  • It can be used in the Sewing Machine spool to make a Dark Bandana Shirt.
  • Would randomly be requested by the villagers in Help Wanted. Completing the request will give you 1,875g and 150 Friendship points.
  • It is required for the Chef’s Bundle on the Bulletin Board.
