The simple and intuitive gameplay helps take this a step further. As you settle down into the idyllic setting of Pelican Town you build your life by living off of the land. And as the game mimics actuality you can even get married, regardless of your partner’s gender!

Marriage has its own perks in the game with partners giving a range of benefits depending on the one you choose. But of course, you can even have your own kids in the game. Here’s how to go about it.

In the game, you can only have kids if you are married. Furthermore, your Farmhouse needs to be upgraded with a nursery and an extra room as well. After this, when you go to bed for the night your there is a 1 in 20 chance your partner will ask you if you want to have/adopt a child. There are 2 responses available saying either ‘yes’ or ‘not now’. Ho****exual or same-s*x couples will adopt a child whereas hetero***ual or opposite-s*x couples will have a biological child.

Tips About Kids

The gender of the child is random. However, you can have two children in the game. You can only have a second child once your first child reaches the Toddler stage. The gender of your second child will be opposite to that of your first. You should also note that the children will never grow past the Toddler stage.
