Updated Date :

Exploring the vast and treacherous lands of Forgotten Realms can take some time in Baldur’s Gate 3 and this is where the Fast Travel mechanic comes in. With the vast number of missions and quests, it isn’t ideal for players to traverse the lands on foot. And as the game is set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe, rest assured they are equal amounts of threats involved while traveling. So to avoid that and make the best out of your campaign in BG3, here is a guide on how you can fast travel from one point to another with ease.

To Fast Travel in the lands of Baldur’s Gate 3, players will have to unlock certain waypoints known as Ancient Rune Circles. You will find them inscribed on rocks or walls while exploring different locales in the game. Once you come across one, you will have to interact with them to unlock the fast traveling options in that specific area. It is worth keeping in mind that you can only fast-travel to specific areas with Ancient Rune Circles in BG3. Once they are activated players can identify them with a purple-colored icon on the map. After which here are the steps you can follow to fast travel from a specific area in the game:

  • Open the map in-game by pressing M and click on the Fast Travel option.
  • Once done, you will be able to see all the activated Ancient Rune Circles with the purple icons.
  • Select the one you want to travel to or is the closest to your objective.
  • You will then return to that waypoint immediately.

Along with waypoints, players will also see party camps that they can use to fast-travel and regroup with their companions. You can use the mechanic without any expense in Baldur’s Gate 3. With its help of it, players can traverse across the lands without wasting much of their time and focusing more on missions and objectives in the game.
