Pawns are immortal characters or helpers and their sole duty is to help Arisen. These companions will stand by your side while completing quests, and fighting dangerous enemies, and they are also extremely knowledgeable. Therefore, it is essential for players to find out how they can hire and use Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Additionally, you will get to create a main pawn for yourself, this helper will stand by your side and help you till the end of the game. You will have full control over the vocation and can use the same starting vocations as your character – Fighter, Thief, Mage, or Archer.
However, since you can have a total of three Pawns, you will need to hire your two other Pawns in DD2. Here’s everything you need to know to begin this process so that you can recruit the best character to help you during this adventure.
How to Hire Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2
You can hire Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2 by interacting with the Riftstones you encounter while exploring the different towns and cities. When you come across a Riftstone, hold the ‘Examine‘ option. You will then be able to see all the different Pawns you can hire. You will also be able to see all the stats, rank, abilities, armor, etc, of these helpers before you summon them.
Additionally, if a particular Pawn is at your level, you can get it for free. However, if the Pawn you want is at a higher level, you will have to spend Rift Crystals in order to hire them.
You can also access the Pawn Search menu, where you can find different helpful options like – Advanced Pawn Search, View Favorite Pawns, Friends’ Pawns, View Previously Hired Pawns, Pawns Your Main Pawn Knows, and Search By Pawn ID. Once you have found the Pawn you want, click on the ‘Hire‘ option to recruit it.
How to Use Pawns in DD2
Since the entire existence of a Pawn is created to serve Arisen, they will help you in all aspects of the game. By selecting an item in your inventory and accessing the “Give” option, you can make your helpers carry some of the stuff when it’s accumulating too much space or if it gets heavy.
As mentioned earlier, some pawns will have a ton of knowledge about certain quests. This can help you complete them quickly and efficiently. Apart from this, if you are looking to win all the battles you fight in DD2, make sure to create a party that includes a Warrior, Fighter, and most importantly a Mage.
