Zelda: How to Restore & Get TotK Master Sword in

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Get back Master Sword

You mainly need 2 full Stamina Bars and the location of the Light Dragon to get TotKMaster Sword. The Sword will be stuck in the Dragon’s head, so you must pull it out. That is where the Stamina wheels come in. And while the Stamina wheel may be a bit of a hassle, you can easily achieve that by completing 20 Shrines. The real cause of concern here is the location of the Light Dragon. So here is how you can find the dragon and get the sword:

  • Directly Landing on its head while it flies
  • Restoring the Deku Tree
  • Collecting 12 Dragon Tear memories

Here is how all 3 of these methods work:

Directly Landing on the Dragon

This is probably the fastest method of getting back the sword, although it will require some trial and error. Also, note that while this is the best method to get the sword, you will be skipping out on some game’s lore. Don’t worry; you will still be able to do the two quests below, but the interactions with the characters may change slightly.

The Light Dragon circles around Hyrule, so try tracking down its path. And once you find a place closest to get to it. Use your Ultrahand device and make a vehicle to fly towards it and jump on the dragon. One of the places that you can use to get to the Dragon is the Water Temple.

Restoring the Deku Tree

The second best method, but slightly harder, is to restore the Deku Tree. Make sure you have good weapons before trying it because there will be many tough fights in this. You should also get the Flamebreaker Armor before it.

  1. Enter the Minshi Woods Chasm.
  2. From here, go northwest to the ruins.
  3. Then Ascend and talk to the Deku Tree in Korok Forest.
  4. Next, go to Korok Grove and Defeat the Phantom Ganon.

After that, the Deku Tree will give you the Dragon’s location, making finding the Master Sword easier. Use the first method to get to the Dragon and pull the Sword out of its head.

Collecting 12 Dragon Tear memories for TotK Master Sword

Finally, the easiest but the longest method is to collect all 12 Dragon Memories.

  1. Talk to Impa to get the mission “Impa and the Geoglyphs.”
  2. Now, find all the Dragon Tears. There are 11 that you can find easily and 1 which is hidden.
  3. You can find the Hidden Dragon Tear in the middle of the Rist Peninsula.
  4. Finally, you can find the Dragon in Akkala region.
  5. Get on its head and pull out the Master Sword.
