How To Earn Story Keys In Genshin Impact

Published Date :

Getting Story Keys in Genshin Impact will be on your mind if you want to begin the Hangout events in the game. This Hangout event is kind of like dating a character, wherein you get to know them better and they can only be unlocked with Story Keys. Within these Hangouts, your choices of dialogues will shape the interaction and the ending will differ. There are 6 endings for each of the characters so you will need quite a few Story Keys to unlock them. Here’s how to get and claim Story Keys in Genshin Impact.

How to Get Story Keys in Genshin Impact

The process to get Story Keys is simple but it will take you multiple days. What you need to do is get to the Story Quest feature which will be available after reaching Adventure Rank 26. Next, you have to complete 8 Daily Commissions which will take you two days. You will get ONE Story Key when you complete your 8th Daily Commission. Note that you won’t get the Keys automatically – you have to claim them manually and here’s how to do it.

How to Claim Story Key

  1. Press the J key.
  2. Click on Story Quest.
  3. Claim your Key right here via the prompt.
  4. The Key will be added to your in-game inventory.

Due to this time restriction, it will take you a bit of time to unlock Hangout events. Also, you can only keep a maximum of 3 Story Keys with you at a time. These keys will also be useful to do Story Quests which only need one Key to unlock. But the Hangout events have a higher requirement probably because of the amount of content you will get through it. With all the multiple scenarios and endings, there’s a lot to do in this Genshin Impact dating-sim like activity. You can choose to hangout with Noelle, Barbara, Bennett and Chongyun in this first wave of events. More characters are expected to come in the next update.

Through this 1.4 update, players can also unlock hidden achievements, get Windblume Ode and get the Elegy for the End bow. There’s more, don’t miss out on the tips and tricks below:
