In Starfield, as you progress through the quest named “The Old Neighbourhood”. you are supposed to examine a satellite. This is accomplished through the maneuvering spacewalk and sneaking past Zealots who worship a deity called the Great Serpent using stealth mode. This guide will help you complete the goal “Examine the Satellite (Avoid Detection)” for the mission in the game.
How to Examine Satellite in Starfield “The Old Neighbourhood” Mission
Moving through the game as you are approaching “The Old Neighbourhood” mission of Starfield. Sarah Morgan, a member of Constellation, will explain to you in detail about the Constellation, and she’ll then request you travel to the Sol system and find Moara. And you’ll have to travel from different planets to rescue Moara who is in trouble.
Sarah will then teach you how to use stealth mode by decreasing all of your ship’s power from subsystems like weapons and shields, since they are easily detectable and only have minimal power to engine ENG on your ship to examine the satellite. This power allocation will make your spaceship travel in stealth and maintain stable control during the examination process.
Furthermore, you should stay away from enemy ships. Then, you can navigate near the Satellite Beacon. Also, maintaining the ship within 500 meters of the satellite is important, as to activate it from afar. Once you slowly approach the satellite, follow the below steps for the platform you are playing Starfield on:
For PC:
- Close the distance between you and the satellite until you are within the range.
- Now, press the “E” button to start the activation.
- Once prompted, press the “R” button on your keyboard to complete the activation.
For Xbox:
- Once you reach within the range of the satellite.
- Press the “A” button on the controller to begin the activation.
- Once prompted, press the “X” button to complete.
Now that you have successfully examined the satellite and learned how to travel stealthily in Starfield, you will proceed in the game to find out that Moara is going to the Nova Galactic Staryard for emergency repairs. You will then have to travel to Luna to reach him.
