While getting to the 80KM checkpoint is quite an endeavor in itself, if you’ve managed to get near, it’s time to lock in and complete the journey. Whether you’re playing with friends, random players or solo, here’s how to beat the 80,000M checkpoint and lower the bridge in Dead Rails. Make sure you have a Rifle, ammo, Snake Oil and Horse ready before you begin.

How to Lower the Bridge in Dead Rails
When you are about to reach the 80KM checkpoint, be careful because the town is packed with Outlaws. Take down the enemies near the entrance on the roof and slowly get closer as you keep shooting them. Remember to also kill the outlaw at the back of the town and then loot every building for valuable items, weapons and Bonds.
Make sure all of this is planned for the daytime because if it’s night, you will have additional enemies spawning. However, if you’re playing with a team, especially with your friends, nighttime should be easy to handle.
As soon as you’ve taken everything you need, approach the bridge and interact with the ‘Lower Bridge’ section by pressing and holding E to turn the crank. This starts a 4-minute timer which is when zombies and outlaws will appear from the entrance of the town. You need to survive this attack by staying close to the bridge and staying behind some cover. Use the horse for this purpose since it’s the end of the road anyway!
While behind cover, keep landing headshots from a distance to take down the incoming Outlaws. Don’t let the enemies come too close because the zombies can run pretty fast.
When the timer finally ends, you will see a message of ‘You Escaped!’ Final Distance: 80000M and then the game will take you back to the lobby.
