The Crystalized Rod in Fisch is one of the rods you can obtain from the Northern Expedition location and it has some decent stats, but the Arctic Rod outshines it at the same price range. However, if you’re looking to catch fish with the Crystalized mutation that boosts the value of fish by 1.7x, you will need the Crystalized Rod. Here’s how to successfully make your way to it, and complete the Ice Puzzle all while battling the freezing temperature of Northern Summit.

How to Get the Crystalized Rod in Fisch
To obtain the Crystalized Rod, you need to travel to Northern Expedition through the portal marked on the map – it will be visible once you hop onto your boat. When you get there, make your way nearly to the top via the left side of the island and you will find it frozen next to an Ice Puzzle. Make sure you follow the ladders as your path to get up there.
Note that you need one more player with a Glass Diamond, which can be obtained from the Overgrowth Caves pond. When you both have it, get to the top by following the barricades/fences and climbing some more ladders.
Soon, you’ll notice two bars next to your character — the orange one indicates temperature and the blue one is all about oxygen. Buy the Beginner Oxygen tank at the camp at this point and refill it with oxygen when it drops. You can reheat your character by standing next to a campfire. This is also where you can purchase a Pickaxe and the Avalanche rod.
How to Solve the Ice Puzzle in Fisch
After refilling your oxygen, go up the ladders on the opposite side and keep going until you see an opening on the left with a view of giant icicles.
Head towards the icicles and you’ll notice two pressure plates around the rod that’s frozen in ice. You won’t be able to use the pickaxe to break it open. To complete the ice puzzle, the other player needs to stand on one pressure plate, and you need to stand on the other while the glass diamond is in your hand.
Doing this will activate the puzzle and the ice around the rod will melt. Approach the rod and interact with it to spend 35000C$ and buy the Crystalized Rod in Fisch.

While the Arctic rod is better and cheaper, if you’re someone who wants to get to 100% completion, the Crystalized Rod is a must.
