Best Controller Settings in NBA 2K23
As mentioned, there are plenty of options or settings that you can customize in NBA 2K23. Here are the following controller settings that you can change according to your preference:
- Shot Timing
- Passing Settings
- Defense Settings
You need to head over to Settings on the Main menu and select the Controller Settings option. Let’s look at each of these settings in more detail.
Shot Timing – Best Controller Settings in NBA 2K23
You need to test out different release times for the best suitable shot timing. It is all about the time taken for releasing the basketball. It all depends on your play style. You can also set certain animated custom effects for the perfect release. Speaking of the jump shot meter, it is up to your suitable playstyle to choose the right one. You can head over to your gym to practice and test out different animations. Check out our guide on how to change and turn off the jump shot meter for more insight. Upon turning off the shot meter, you will also get a bonus shooting boost. It is recommended for veteran or experienced players.
Defensive Assist Strength is an important controller setting that involves the defense speed of your player. It is all about how much you want to control your playable character’s movements when guarding the ball. If your movements are extremely slow, this might be because of applying it to a higher number. We suggest keeping this setting to 10 or 15 at most. If you are playing the center position, we recommend keeping it to zero or lesser than 10.
In Basketball matches, it is pretty important to pass the ball to the right player in the right position. You can toggle the Pass Target profile option to Custom or Direction. Here are the following recommended passing settings:
- Pass Target Direction: 20-25
- Pass Target Distance: 35-45
- Openness: 90-100
If you are a beginner player, you can apply the maximum Pass target Openness to pass the ball to the most open player. But as you play more matches, you will notice that this can also be used to bait pass to your opponents.
