It is vital for the Necromancer class players to know about the Bone Spike ability and how to use it in Diablo 4. That’s because, in the 1.0.3 Patch Notes, the devs increased the stats of this Mount Skill, which can surely come in handy. This is the third Dismount skill that is exclusive to the Necromancer class. Similarly, all the others also feature a class-exclusive Mount skill apart from the non-class ones, such as Spur & Dismount. If you’re planning to use the Bone Spike mount skill but are not sure how it works in D4, then we’ll catch you up to speed.
What Do the Bone Spikes Do in Diablo 4? (Damage & Effects)
In Diablo 4, the Bone Spike mount skill dismounts the Necromancer from the horse to jump and slam the ground with some deadly spikes. Doing so not only deals Physical damage to the enemies but also stuns them for a few seconds. Notably, the 1.0.3 Patch Notes increased the base damage of Bone Spikes from 80% to 120% in D4. However, there are no changes with the Stun duration and it stays the same i.e. 2 seconds. But after the update, this Dismount Ability does bring a good amount of damage to the table, than it used to before.
As it’s a skill for the mount, it can’t be used without unlocking and riding a mount. So make sure you complete the Mount: Doman’s Favor mission to get a horse of your own. If having trouble doing that, then check out this Mount guide for more details. And after you’re done with that, simply ride it and you’ll see all 3 mount abilities in the Skill bar below. All you have to do is press the prompt button and the skill will do the rest. But don’t forget to aim correctly at the right time in order to use the ability effectively.
