The Destiny 2 Lightfall is finally out with several new content and challenges. Guardians will face the Calus boss during the eighth and the last Lightfall campaign mission titled Desperate Measures. While it’s not the first time this boss has appeared, it is the first fight against this boss. Now, as he is the Herald or disciple of the Witness, his prowess has indefinitely increased. You can complete the Lightfall campaign once you have defeated the final boss, Calus. You might need some tips and tricks to defeat this boss. So, check out our guide on how to beat the Destiny 2 Lightfall Calus final boss fight.

The entirety of the Lightfall campaign revolves around Strand which is the newest elemental power in Destiny 2. There are two phases to the Calus boss fight. You can use Strand’s grapple abilities to reposition and evade the explosive attacks from Calus. While the first phase involves dealing him with more damage, the second phase involves enduring his new moves.

So, let’s delve into the two phases of the Calus boss fight and beating him in the Lightfall campaign in more detail:

    Calus Boss Fight Phase 1

In the first phase, Calus will have a single health bar while spawning hordes of enemies. As we begin the boss fight, he will spawn hordes of different types of Legionary enemies. While these enemies are typically weak, dealing them damage can deplete Calus’s health as well. So, we suggest going full-power and using your best Grenade launchers from the start. You have to make sure that the weaker enemies don’t surround you. So, we also recommend continuing grappling and repositioning for this phase.

After causing him enough damage, he can spawn Tormentors to shield him from the damage. But taking these enemies out can eventually bring the shield down. You can check out our guide on how to kill Tormentors for more insight.

    Calus Boss Fight Phase 2

Once you have completely depleted his health bar, the second Phase will be triggered. During this phase, Calus not only has a new health bar but also a new weapon. For this phase, he will be coming after you with a huge Sword. You must maintain as much distance against him as possible. That’s because his melee attacks can cause lethal blows. So, grapple your way around to cause damage to him and his hordes of Tormentors. While focussing on the ads, also look out if Calus is trying to close the gap and melee attack you. To counter this, you can use the Thunderlord Machine gun or a Power weapon.

Nevertheless, try to survive the phase and take cover when your health is low. Note that mobility can help you endure the boss fight but also focus on dealing him damage.

That’s everything covered about how to beat the Calus boss fight in Destiny 2 Lightfall.
