With the launch of Overwatch 2, several recurring characters received balanced buffs and nerfs. There are plenty of changes that happened with the abilities, passives, and ultimates of these characters. That being said, the launch of the sequel also marks plenty of bugs and issues. One of these includes the new ultimate ability of Bastion that has left several players in the community stumped. That’s because this bug allows players to spam its artillery attacks. The players that have played the original Overwatch would know that Bastion’s ultimate used to work differently than the sequel. In the previous installment, he could transform into a Tank and shoot explosives against his enemies. In Overwatch 2, Bastion’s ultimate ability has gained better movement options with a new Grenade ability. As he uses this ultimate, he can transform into an Artillery Cannon to shoot three rounds on selected points.
But due to the bug, he can spam these rounds upon his enemies. According to the Reddit user, u/ILCaponchi, (link), this major bug can shoot the rounds until the time goes out. As you shoot the first two rounds, they fire away normally where you place them. But as you shoot the third round, you can continue spamming multiple shots until the time finishes. This bug can be troublesome and concerning as Bastion is supposed to shoot simply three Artillery rounds.

Bastion’s ultimate ability is usually avoidable when it fires away the first two rounds. But for other players, the spam can be a bit challenging to dodge. With the appearing massive circles that aim for his Artillery attack, it allows the enemies to run or scatter before they launch. Several players have been a victim of Bastion’s ultimate Artillery spam. Due to this, players are pretty annoyed by the cheap deaths caused by this bug.
We hope Blizzard acknowledges and resolves this issue as soon as possible. Although server maintenance resolves a fair deal of bugs and issues, we hope this specific bug gets resolved.
