The Aid Item has to match the symbol color of the affliction. If you notice properly, the Aid Item and the Status Effect as a result of the Affliction will have matching symbols and that gives you a clue about which ingredients are needed to cure them. After that, head over to the Pharmaceutical Lab and craft the necessary remedies.

Since you might not know the correct Aid Item to use at first, you might end up spending money by visiting a Doctor.
