Nintendo has released the first year anniversary update for Animal Crossing New Horizons and as usual, there will be new items and furniture to unlock. If you are curious to get your hands on the Sanrio and Hello Kitty items in ACNH, this guide will tell you exactly what you should do. The first thing to note is that you should have updated the game to the 1.9 version which is the anniversary update.
How to Get Sanrio and Hello Kitty Items in ACNH
To obtain the Sanrio furniture which include the Hello Kitty items, you have to get buy the Sanrio Amiibo cards. Yes, the process is different from how you would usually get new furniture items in-game. This time around you have to purchase them from Target stores ($6) in the United States. Canada will also have them possibly at Best Buy or other retailers and it could cost around $7. You can also check online to buy them or get them from someone else who has already purchased them.
Once you purchase these Sanrio Amiibo cards, you need to scan them at Photopia present in Harvey’s island or at the Nook Stop. When you do that, you will unlock Sanrio items and furniture. Next, you have to spend Bells at the Nook Stop in Resident Services to buy the items via Nook Shopping. Head to the Promotions tab to get them but there’s a limit of five items to purchase daily. To get more, you have to wait until the next day.
