After dealing with all the objectives in the Goblin Camp, players will come across Creche Y’llek under the Rosymorn Monastery as they progress further. And inside the Creche you will stumble upon Zaith’isk, a natural and partly mechanical Githyanki Device that may allegedly cure your Tadpole problem. However, the game does not tell you what are the pros and cons of using the Githyanki device.

There are many things that you will need to consider here before volunteering to use the Zaith’isk in Baldur’s Gate 3 . So if you are wondering about the Githyanki Device from where to find out how to use it, then here is a guide you should check out further.

The Zaith’isk in BG3, as mentioned above, is a Githyanki Device that you will encounter in the Creche Y’llek under the Rosymorn Monastery. Inside the Creche, you will need to interact with Ghustil Stornugoss in the Infirmary. The NPC will oversee all the processes of the device and help you get rid of the Mind Flayer Tadpole with it.

Before going through the process, we would suggest that you save the game first. After interacting with Ghustil and agreeing to use the device, Lae’zel will come forward and insist on using the device first. However, we recommend that you ignore her advice and use the device for yourself. The foremost reason is, that if Lae’zel goes forward with the Zaith’isk, she will eventually be stuck with a permanent debuff which will decrease three of her random stats.

Keeping Lae’zel aside, once you use the Zaith’isk in BG3 for your character, you will need to pass three saving throws to get the Awakened Buffs:

  • DC 12 Intelligence
  • DC 15 Wisdom
  • DC 18 Constitution or DC 18 Intelligence

Once you succeed by passing all three saving throws, you will strengthen your Illithid Powers and obtain the Zaith’isk Awakened Buff in the game. With the buff, you will be able to use all of your Illithid Powers as a Bonus Action. However, the device won’t help you cure the Mindflayer Tadpole.

As mentioned before, letting Lae’zel use the device instead of you will give her a permanent debuff which will decrease three of her random stats in the game. However, you can easily prevent it from happening by simply not agreeing with her and going forward with the process yourself. While Lae’zel will disapprove of this action, it is your best bet to avoid the debuff.

Not to mention, players need to use the Githyanki device to gain the Zaith’isk Awakened Buff in Baldur’s Gate 3. That said, if you agree with Lae’zel and she goes forward to use the machine, your Guardian will insist you stop her from sitting on the chair. Here, you will have the option to save Lae’zel from the permanent debuff, however, you will need to pass DC 30 checks to successfully prevent it.

While you will have three attempts to save Lae’zel, it is more than likely to fail which is why it is important to stop her beforehand. Regardless of the result in both cases, the Guardian will destroy the Zaith’isk in BG3.
