How To Wipe Dedicated Server Or Restore Wiped Server In Palworld

Dedicated Servers are one of the best ways to play multiplayer in Palworld. However, if you decide to wipe the dedicated server or want to restore lost progress, our guide will show you what to do.

In Palworld, players have enjoyed the most that the game has to offer once they set up dedicated servers. It is one of the best ways if you have a group of friends and if you want to play multiplayer with them. However, for some reason, if you want to wipe Palworld dedicated server, you may not exactly know what to do. The game is not clear on those with instructions.

For whatever reasons best known to players, they might want to delete the dedicated server they have been playing on and luckily, there is not a lot you have to do. Since saved files are local, players will have to remove the file and they will get rid of the server. This method is only available for PC players currently and cannot be done via Xbox.

How to Wipe Palworld Dedicated Server

Delete Palworld Dedicated Server from the Saved Files

To wipe Palworld Dedicated server, players will have to delete the saved game folder for that server. While it will also reset your character, you will manage to delete your dedicated server. If you are on Steam, you can simply right-click on Palworld, select Manage, and then hit Browse Local Files. There, you can find a folder called Saved which will lead to SaveGames and once you delete the saved content, the server and your character will be wiped.

Game Pass users will have to browse through the folder menu. They can head to C:\Users[Username]\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\SaveGames and they will find the folders that they need to delete. This will remove their dedicated server and their character.

How to Restore Wiped Server Progress in Palworld

There is also a bug floating that resets progress after day 32 in the dedicated server and you might want to know how to restore progress. While the best course of action for that is to avoid dedicated servers till Pocketpair fixes it, there is a way to restore your saved progress. Sadly, your dedicated server won’t return but you can create a new server and load your progress onto it.

While it sounds simple, there are a few important steps that you need to do, and hope you won’t face the same problem after day 32 on the new server. Pocketpair are yet to acknowledge this issue but they are working on a new patch or an update that should permanently fix this issue once and for all.

This will involve tweaking the backup files and you will need some technical know-how to do so. Make sure you follow the steps to the dot while you are at it:

  • If you did not wipe Palworld dedicated server on your own but the progress got lost due to the bug, head back to C:\Users[Username]\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\SaveGames and you can find a folder with a string of numbers.
  • While there could be numerous servers here, select the one you have been playing recently (see date modified) and open it to get the backup.
  • Then select the backup and copy the LocalData.sav file.
  • After that, make a character on any server where you want to restore the progress (only the progress can be saved and not the server).
  • Now, in the new folder that is created for this server, you need to overwrite the saved file. However, you won’t have to go to the backup folder since you will find another LocalData.sav file on the outside.
  • Paste the previous LocalData.sav file here and confirm that you want to overwrite the file.
  • Now, once you launch Palworld, you will have all your saved progress restored in your new server.

That’s all we have from this guide. Hopefully, you can wipe Palworld dedicated server or restore your progress if the server deletes on its own. If you found this guide of use, do check out more Palworld guides on our dedicated section here at Gamer Tweak.
