Will GTA 6 Have First-Person Mode? Latest Footage Leaves Fans Wondering

Published Date :

GTA 6’s latest extended look has given players a closer look at the game’s action, story, driving, exploration, and open world. However, the gameplay steers away from one familiar feature: first-person mode. The new footage shared by Rockstar has brought back questions about whether GTA 6 will let players switch between third-person and first-person perspectives when it launches in November.

GTA 6 Hasn’t Clearly Shown First-Person Gameplay

Rockstar’s recent extended look was captured using in-game footage on a PlayStation 5. The showcase featured cutscenes, driving, combat, exploration, and several other activities, offering the best look at GTA 6’s gameplay so far. But, Rockstar did not clearly show a freely switchable first-person camera.

This does not confirm that the feature is missing. Rockstar simply has not officially explained how camera perspectives will work in GTA 6 and fans expect it to be added at a later date.

GTA 5 Already Supports First-Person Mode

GTA 5 added a first-person perspective in its newer console and PC versions, allowing players to switch between first-person and third-person views. Because GTA 6 is being developed for current-generation consoles, many fans expect Rockstar to bring the feature back. The studio has not confirmed whether it will return in the same form.

Some scenes in the latest footage also use closer camera angles such as over-the-shoulder shots, but these are not the same as a dedicated first-person mode.

So, Will GTA 6 Have First-Person Mode?

The answer is still unclear. Rockstar has not officially confirmed a dedicated first-person mode for GTA 6 – at least as of now. We will wait for the devs to share more details about the game’s camera system because the absence of first-person gameplay in the latest footage does not necessarily mean it has been removed.

With GTA 6 set to release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Rockstar could reveal more about its gameplay features before launch.
