What Happens To Unassigned Crew Members In Starfield

Published Date :

Ever wondered what happens to Unassigned Crew Members in Starfield? For those who don’t know, it’s possible to Assign Crew to Outpost or Ship and even unassign them from the same. However, once removed, they are nowhere to be found near an Outpost or Ship. So where they would have been? In this guide, you will know what happens to an unassigned Crew Member. So take a look below to get started.

Where to Find Unassigned Crew Members in Starfield

Unassigned Crew Members are lost in the open galaxy of this game. To find their location, you can use the simple steps below:

  • Open the Data Menu and enter the Ship section on the bottom left.
  • After that, select the Crew button on the bottom.
  • From there, you’ll be able to see all of your Crew Member’s status – Assigned or Unassigned.

  • Now, just below it, you will also be able to see their current location.
  • Although you can Assign them back from there, it would allow you to track their location.

Apart from this, many Starfield players are losing their Unassigned Crew and are unable to find them in the above menu. So how to get them back? Well, all you have to do is open up the Quest Log and select an activity quest known as ‘Retrieve the Companion.’ Activating this quest will mark the location of the lost Crew Member or Companion for you. So track them down and recruit them again to make them appear on your Ship.

Recently, many players have addressed their disappointment as they weren’t able to find their Unassigned Crew Members anywhere. It seemed that their game got bugged which cost them the entire Crew. For now, it seems that there’s no fix to this error and players have to wait for the developers to launch an update. You can check out this Reddit Post where players have written about this issue.
