Like many players, Vulnerable in Diablo 4 is a status effect that is arguably the most overlooked and slept on. Quite understandably, with a plethora of ways to damage your enemies, Vulnerable damage can get lost in the endgame content. But Vulnerable might be the most underestimated status effect of them all. Exactly as its name implies, it makes your enemies and bosses more susceptible to damage. But how to trigger a Vulnerable effect on enemies? And what are the best skills that make use of the Vulnerable damage? Don’t worry, check out our guide that explains everything about the Vulnerable status effect in D4.
What is Vulnerable in Diablo 4 (Explained)
The vulnerable status effect in Diablo 4 increases the damage you deal against your enemies by 20%. As specific skills, passive nodes, and attacks can apply Vulnerable status ailment on enemies, it will state the duration of the effect. Once the health bar of your enemy or boss turns purple, it means you have applied Vulnerable status to them. It will also prompt a large yellow “Vulnerable” message hovering above them. But note that this status effect is not exclusive to your enemies or bosses.
Certain elites, bosses, or mobs can also inflict a Vulnerable status effect in D4 by dealing you enough damage. This will be indicated by a broken glass marked with blue cracks around your Health Orb. Since you will be weaker, we recommend waiting for the status effect to end before fighting your enemies. That’s because their moves and attack damage will be increased by at least 20%. However, its duration depends on the skills, attacks, or moves they used against you.

Once you know what skills and attacks trigger the Vulnerable in Diablo 4, you must look for ways to increase the Vulnerable damage.
