Valheim: How To Get A Fishing Rod And Catch Fish

Eddy RobertBy Eddy RobertFebruary 6, 2021Updated:February 11, 20212 Mins Read

There are plenty of things in Valheim that players will have to buy from a merchant. One such thing is a fishing rod. There are tons of players who have been wondering how to fish in Valheim and if that’s you then look no further as we have a detailed guide explaining the same in the easiest way possible.

Before we explain the entire process of fishing in Valheim, let me tell you that you can’t go fishing unless you have a fishing rod.

How To Get A Fishing Rod

To get a fishing rod in Valheim, you will have to approach a merchant named Holder, who can be found in the Black Forest.

It should be noted that there is no specific place where you will find the Holder in the Black Forest. However, if you get close to him, a huge icon appears on your minimap, revealing his exact location. What all you need to do is to go there and purchase a fishing rod from him. The fishing rod will cost you 350 coins.

    How To Fish in Valheim

Once you have obtained a Fishing rod, you simply need to find a body of water. Once you find a pool of water, you will have to cast your fishing line into the water and wait patiently until you see bubbles will get closer to your fishing line and then the bobber should get pulled under the water.

This happens only when a fish gets hooked in your fishing rod. Now, it is time to reel back in your fishing line. If you successfully reel back in your fishing line, you will get a message appearing on the screen that says Caught Fish.  If you failed to catch a fish, give it another try.

That’s everything you need to know about where to find a fishing rod and how to fish in Valheim. While you are here, ensure reading about how to beat Eikthyr and how to get a Smelter In Valheim.   For more details do not forget to visit our Valheim Wiki Guide for cheats, boss fights, rare resource locations, etc. locations, etc.
