The Galaxy’s last line of offense is finally here. However, like most new games that require you to have an online connection, Helldivers 2 too is facing server issues. Many players are getting the Unable to Establish connection error and are looking for ways to fix it. When you get this error you won’t be able to play the game at all as you can’t get past the first screen. So below are some workarounds that can help you out:
How to Fix Unable to Establish Connection in Helldivers 2
At present there is no official fix for this problem. However, there are still these few things that you can try:
- Clear Data and Use VPN: Thanks to Reddit user u/Danilocking for sharing it you can check their comment here.
- Press Windows + R and enter %AppData%. This should open your AppData\Roaming folder.
- Here, find and delete the Arrowhead’s folder.
- Before starting the game, link your PSN and Steam accounts.
- Next, open your VPN and set it to US. You can install some reputed ones if you don’t use any.
- Finally, launch the game and complete the setup.
- This should get the game working. You can now minimize the game and turn off the VPN then go back and continue playing. Make sure to use a VPN each time before you start a new play session.
- Run the game as Admin: One of the players in the Steam Community Kong suggests this fix and it happens to work for them.
- Right-click on the helldivers2.exe and choose Run as administrator.
- If this works then you can next time right-click and go to Properties.
- Go to the Compatibility tab and check the Run this program as an administrator.
- Apply these changes.
- Next time the game will directly run as admin and you shouldn’t get the above error.
For a permanent fix, we will have to wait for the developers to fix the servers or release an update addressing it.
