How to Get Tome Of Identify in Diablo 2 Resurrected
The Tome of Identify is a book that you can purchase from an NPC in Rogue Encampment. You can also get it from the Jail and Catacombs levels in the first act. You require Gold to buy it, so be sure to collect a lot of Gold from enemies as you slay them. The first time you get a Tome of Identify in your inventory, you will have to manually drag and drop scrolls into it. But after that, any new ones you find will be automatically added into the Tome.

How does the Tome of Identify work in D2R?
You can keep up to 20 Scrolls of Identify which will free up space in your inventory for other crucial items. You can obtain these Scrolls randomly as enemy drops so keep progressing to find more of them. Note that once you use up all the scrolls in the Tome, you will have to add more to it to be able to use the Tome again.
It’s a great inventory management item just like the Horadric cube. It takes up two slots in your inventory but once you rescue Deckard Cain, he will identify the items you obtain for free. So you won’t really need the Tome after that but before you save him, it will come in real handy. The use of Tome of Identify is similar to the Tome of Town Portal, which will carry Scrolls of Town Portal instead.
