Demagog Studio, the developers behind games like Everdream Valley and Bang on Balls, announced their newest challenging adventure platform parkour game, The Cub back in March 2022. And ever since its announcement, many players have quickly added the indie game to their wishlist. And finally, the game has a full release date, and it’s just around the corner.
The Cub has been described by the developers as a completely modern twist on 90s SEGA Games and old adventure classics like The Jungle Book, Aladdin, Lion King, etc. The announcement trailer created quite the buzz with many players impressed by the unique gameplay.
So if you are excited and were following the updates for The Cub, then the recent trailer by Untold Tales, the publisher behind the game has shed some more light on the gameplay and the release date as well. Here is everything you need to know about the indie’s release.
When is The Cub Coming Out? – Release Date Info
The Cub is all set to release on January 19, 2024. This was confirmed by the recent release trailer of the game which also revealed some of the gameplay aspects and platforms. Players will be able to wishlist the game on all the available platforms from now on. Once you have wishlist the game, it will be unlocked on the day of release to purchase.

The Cub Story & Gameplay
Demagog Studio has quite some things in store for all the players eagerly awaiting the release of The Cub on all the platforms. They have even gone on further to describe the game as The Jungle Book Meets Armageddon which with the looks of it, might just be true.
The Cub will be a platform parkour game where you will go through the remains of all humanity and the urban ruins. You will have to clear various levels each with increasing difficulty and a unique story. Along the way, you will be able to solve some environmental puzzles keeping things interesting.
The story of The Cub takes place on a post-apocalyptic earth that went through Brutal Wars and Ecological disasters over time. While the ultra-rich made their way to Mars, other people were left to die in the chemical wastelands.
Players will take on the role of a mutant child who roams around immune to chemical waste. However, you will soon come across another mutant child which will ensue a cat-and-mouse chase further.
The Cub Platforms
The Cub will be available for players on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, the developers haven’t announced any Xbox consoles as the confirmed platforms and haven’t addressed it any further. However, the game will be released on all the platforms exactly on January 19. And you will be able to purchase the game accordingly.
While the price has not yet been revealed, players will have to keep track of that on the official store. For PC players The Cub will be available on Steam, Epic Games, and GOG. The game will be released on the dedicated console stores.
