Best Order To Complete Zelda TOTK Dungeons & Temples

You can complete any Temple or Dungeon first to gain certain powers in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. But, for a smoother storyline progression, you should follow this order.

As soon as you leave the Great Sky Island, you’ll get to know about the 4 Temples or Dungeons Wind, Fire, Water, & Lightning. Each of these Temples is located in different regions of the map. You have complete freedom over selecting & beating any Dungeon in any order to acquire powers. However, you can still follow an ideal sequence to gain the respective powers and progress through the main storyline smoothly. To help you with it, here’s the best order in which you should complete the Temples in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK).

The Regional Phenomena quests give you the task of exploring regions & completing their respective quests. In the meantime, you must also complete the Temples or Dungeons located in those regions. With that out of the way, here’s which Dungeon you should complete first in Zelda TOTK.

Best Order for Completing Temples in Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)

Best Order for Completing Temples in Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)

You can follow this order for completing the Dungeons in Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK).

  1. Wind Temple (Rito Village)
  2. Fire Temple (Goron City)
  3. Water Temple (Zora)
  4. Lightning Temple (Gerudo Town)

Wind Temple

No matter which sequence you choose, you should always complete the Wind Temple first in TOTK. Here, you will be receiving the Sage of the Winds power that comes in handy while flying. You will find this power extremely useful while exploring the Great Sky Island. Even all the NPCs & the Purah Pad itself recommend you complete the Wind Temple at Rito Village first.

Fire Temple

Later on, completing the Fire Temple or Dungeon of Goron City second is a much wiser choice in TOTK. Beating the Dungeon boss here will reward you with Sage of Fire’s power. This power can then become a major addition to yourself as it allows you to use the fire to knock back enemies.

Water Temple

It is important that you focus on your defensive stats as well. Keeping that in mind, the next Temple in the order is the Water Temple. Once you complete this Temple, you will be given the power to generate water bubbles (Sage of Water) around Link. It reduces all the incoming damage caused by enemies.

Lightning Temple

The Lightning Temple is placed last in the order because it is really tough to beat in Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK). By the time you complete all the 3 above Temples and reach the Lightning Temple, you will find yourself in a much better position in-game. After completing this Temple, you will receive the Sage of Lightning’s power. You can use trigger this power and shoot an arrow to cause colossal damage to the enemies.

Spirit Temple

Unlike the above 4 Dungeons, the Spirit Temple is not a part of the Regional Phenomena quest in TOTK. Instead, it is something that you unlock during the Guidance From Ages Past main story quest. Completing it will reward Link with Vow of Mineru, Sage of Spirit. It can be used to summon Mineru’s Construct (Mech Suit).

According to me, that’s the best order to complete the Temples or Dungeons in Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK).
