Stardew Valley lets you step into a world of farming and activities. Since its launch in 2016, the game has been on an upward trajectory with the game introducing timely patches with new activities and tasks. These activities give you a chance to earn some rare resources at times which you can either choose to sell or utilize in crafting recipes. These are usually requested by other NPCs in the game. One such is the ‘Curious Substance’ request that is put forth by the Wizard. You are tasked with finding Ectoplasm. But what really is Ectoplasm in Stardew Valley? Read below in this guide to find out more about it.
How to get Ectoplasm in Stardew Valley
To get Ectoplasm you will have to kill some ghosts. It has a 9.5% chance of being dropped after you kill a ghost. Ghosts themselves are pretty hard to come by so you will have to remain patient if you want to complete this task. That being said Ghosts are more frequent in the mines. If you want to farm ectoplasm it makes sense to visit the higher levels of the mine which have these spooky characters.
Ectoplasm is a thick, slimy goop that basically acts as the residue left behind after you kill a ghost. It isn’t used for anything as such. The only purpose it serves is that it is requested by the Wizard. You get 7 days to complete this request. Upon completion, the Wizard will reward you with 2500g and a Mini-Obelisk recipe. You also cannot sell the ectoplasm to anyone else in the game.
