Dank Crypt is riddled with traps and you will have to solve this puzzle if you want to collect the Watcher’s Guide and remain unharmed in Baldur’s gate 3. While it is the first dungeon that you will come across with the fire and grease trap, it is quite easy to disarm the trap once you know what to do. Players can enter the Dank Crypt after entering through the Ravaged Beach and making their way to the Sarcophagus coffin. Make sure you have characters with high Perception skills to find the fire and grease traps around the room.
How to Disarm Dank Crypt Traps & Solve Puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3
In the image above, players can see the approximate location of the Dank Crypt traps that they have to disarm to solve the puzzle in BG3.
There are 6 fire and grease traps in the Dank Crypt and once players place an object on each of them, they will solve the puzzle and disarm the traps in Baldur’s Gate 3. While you can place any objects, we suggest you use the vases since they are already there in abundance. Although it is quite easy, players have been setting off the traps while trying to get the Watcher’s Guide since the game is not clear on this. Nevertheless, you can go to the Dank Crypt now and collect the Watcher’s Guide from the Sarcophagus coffin in BG3.
Players will be able use the Perception Skill and detect six traps in the room. One at the start, two on each sides of the coffin (near the pillars) and the last one near the exit. Before you get the Watcher’s Guide from the Sarcophagus in Baldur’s Gate 3, make sure you loot the other two coffins on each sides of the Dank Crypt for some useful items.
Additionally, if you fail to disarm the traps in Dank Crypt, a button will appear on one of the pillars once you trigger the trap accidentally in BG3. Press the button and you and your companions should be fine.
