There’s a plethora of Pokemon and their different types that can be found throughout the wild in Pokemon GO. But none of the feelings compares to getting a shiny version of a Pokemon. Ever since Inkay’s debut during last year’s Psychic Spectacular event, players have been waiting for its shiny version to release. With the upcoming Research, players wouldn’t need to worry about that. Here’s our guide on everything to know about the upcoming shiny Inkay in Pokemon Go.

How to Get Shiny Inkay in Pokemon GO (2022)

You can get the Shiny Inkay for the first time on September 3, 2022, during the limited Inkay Research event. Pokemon Trainers will get a short window from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Local time. Along with the increased chance of encountering shiny Inkay, you will also get several event bonuses. But you will need to complete the field research tasks to encounter Inkay. While you won’t encounter shiny Inkay out in the wild, you can find several other Pokemon. And to add the cherry on top, you can also encounter their shiny versions.

Here are the following Pokemon that you can find in the wild:

  • Alolan Ratata
  • Murkrow
  • Houndour
  • Poochyena
  • Nuzleaf
  • Sableye
  • Purrloin
  • Galarian Zigzagoon

Aside from Nuzleaf and Purrloin, you can encounter a shiny version of all the Pokemon mentioned. Since this research event will only last for 3 hours, we suggest players set their clocks right. Because this is the absolute best chance at capturing Shiny Inkay. Similar to Inkay, you can also evolve its shiny version into Malamar. Once you have obtained 50 Inkay candies, simply turn your phone upside down to evolve the shiny Inkay.
