How to Find Sentinel Pillar Location in No Man’s Sky
Sentinel Pillar in No Man’s Sky (NMS) is a sinister structure that can be found on the surface of a planet. These are meant to serve as highly guarded posts for local Sentinel forces. Disrupting them can reward new weapons, lore, and more.
There are two main methods for finding Sentinel Pillars, they are as follows:
- Sentinel Boundary Map method
- Planetary Combat Method
Let’s get into detail about each method and the steps involved.
Sentinel Boundary Map Method
This method requires exploration on the surface of the planet. You need to find a Sentinel Boundary Map and these maps can be found by searching Buried Caches. However, it will require some time and luck as these Buried Caches only have a rare chance to drop it instead of always having it.
To find buried caches, simply use your Analysis Visor and search for a Buried Cache icon. These caches will be slightly under the surface and you will have to use the Terrain Manipulator on your Multi-tool to get to it. Once you find Sentinel Boundary Map in one of the caches, use it and it will point you to the Sentinel Pillar in your current system.
Planetary Combat Method
Another method to find Sentinel Pillar in No Man’s Sky is through sheer combat. This method is straightforward but it is more challenging than the previous one. All you need to do is pick a fight with sentinels on any planet and keep fighting them until you reach max wanted level. Once you finish off the last wave of Sentinels on the max wanted level, you will lose your wanted status and get a waypoint to the Sentinel Pillar in your current system.
