Minecraft is a mix of a Sandbox & a Survival game. You can do whatever you want but you will have constantly survive by battling different enemies. Along with the survival aspect, you will be exploring the World of Minecraft a lot. Along with that exploration, you will find multiple Biomes rich in Color & Life. As you are exploring the Caves you come across the Deep Dark Biome & the horrors that reside in it. One Block you will find there is the Sculk Shrieker. How to Use a Sculk Shrieker in Minecraft
A Sculk Shrieker is a Redstone Block that can be activated through a Redstone pulse from a Redstone Signal Source or a Sculk Sensor. It activates when it gets a signal caused by the vibrations of a Player’s action. This includes Running, Walking, Jumping, Flying, Mining, etc. Once activated, it will apply the Darkness effect to all Players in Survival mode in a 40 blocks radius.
The Sculk Shrieker will also increase the Warning Level by one for all affected Players. If the Warning Level exceeds level 3, a Warden will spawn in an 11×13×11 box centered on the Sculk Shrieker. A Warning level will disappear every 10 minutes. Sculk Shriekers placed by a Player or spawned by a Sculk Catalyst will not be able to spawn a Warden but will still apply the Darkness effect.
You can use this mechanic to safeguard your house from unwanted visitors, i.e. griefing players. The Darkness effect lasts for 12 Seconds & can be reapplied after 10 seconds of the Shriekers activation. if done right, you can more or less keep a player in perpetual Darkness with two Sculk Shriekers.
How to Get a Shrieker
As I have mentioned above, a Sculk Shrieker is exclusively found in the Deep Dark Biome in Minecraft. You can get it there or spawn one yourself with the assistance of a Sculk Catalyst. Although you have only a 1% chance of spawning one through the Catalyst. Once you do find one, you can break it with any tool but you will need a Tool with the Silk Touch Enchantment to pick it up. Once you have the Sculk Shrieker in your hand, you can place it anywhere.
