But if you already know what you are doing, then here’s the answer to your question – can you & how to save Melina in Elden Ring?

Can You & How to Save Melina in Elden Ring?

Yes, you can save Meline in Elden Ring, and to do this you need to get the “Frenzied Flame” from ‘Three Fingers’ for the Forge of the Giants. This is where Melina sacrifices herself to ignite the Erdtree entrance. Then do Millicent’s questline to get the “Unalloyed Gold Needle” drop from “Commander O’Neil”. Give this to “Scarlet Aeonia” after Malenia’s boss fight, to get the “Miquella’s Needle”.

Consume “Miquella’s Needle” at Dragonlord Placidusax boss fight at “Crumbling Farum Azula”. This will reverse the “Frenzied Flame” from you and you will not get locked into the ‘Lord of the Frenzied Flame’ ending. And according to the answer by u/Mackisbeast/ now you can choose any other ending and Melina will be alive. We were able to only reach this solution thanks to u/Mackisbeast.

Also, once you get the “Flame of Frenzy” from ‘Three Fingers’ it is important to get the Miquella’s Needle. Otherwise, you will be locked into just one of the 6 available endings. Consuming Miquella’s Needle will permanently remove the Flame of Frenzy.

And getting the Frenzied Flame is the only way you can save Melina because she will leave you at this point. Then instead of her sacrifice at the Forge to burn the Erdtree, your body is sacrificed. So you need to get Frenzied Flame before initiating the cutscene with Meline at the site of grace here.
