Many players are wondering if there is a Save Editor for Baldur’s Gate 3. If you are new to such games, then as the name implies a save editor lets you edit and change your save files. These can be pretty useful to go back and correct some decisions. They usually also allow you to modify your party, their stats, your stats, and more. It shows how useful they can be, especially if you are having trouble progressing or if you already have completed the game and would like to try different endings. So here is how the save file editor works for BG3.
Is there a Save Editor for Baldur’s Gate 3?
No, at the time of writing this guide, there is no save file editor for the game. The community can make a mod for it soon but as of now, there aren’t even any mods for it. The game also doesn’t have any official save editors.
But even though there are no direct ways that let you modify your progress. There is a mod that lets you change your character stats, we will check it in a bit. As for modifying your in-game progress, the only option you have for now is to use Cheat Engines or Trainers. If you use them you get features like:
- God Mode
- Infinite Movement & actions
- Items with no weight
- Unlimited Exp
- Dice Check success
Although using cheats comes at the risk of getting banned, so consider that before you try one. The above were just some examples of the features such trainers provide. In case you want to experiment around with the save files then you can find them in the following path:
- C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3\
Choose Your Stats Mod
As the name implies, this stat lets you select your stats as per your needs. This mod gives you a potion, drinking which you can change stats, AC, speed, actions, and BA. You get one potion at the game’s start and you can get more from an armorer trader or a hireling.
So while you may not get to change what is in your inventory or how far have you reached, you can still change your character stats quite easily.
That’s all on the Save Editor for Baldur’s Gate 3. If you choose to ditch the cheats then here is some help on decisions like if you should release the pixie, let Astarion bite you, and consume tadpoles.
