Published Date :

Cynthia has been an infamous foe since the original Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum games. While you might find the remakes a bit easier than the original games, you shouldn’t underestimate Cynthia. So in this guide let us take a look at how to beat Cynthia in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl (BDSP).

How to beat Cynthia in Pokemon BDSP

In order to beat Cynthia, you should know her Pokemon and their weaknesses. She is the champion for a good reason, her team is pretty balanced. If you don’t train your Pokemon well and go with the wrong Pokemon types it could mean the end for you. Her Pokemon range between the levels 60-66. So it is highly recommended you train your Pokemon to at least 70 if not level 75.

Cynthia’s team:

  • Spiritomb: Its level is 61. Since Spiritomb is a Ghost/Dark-type Pokemon, you should counter it with the following types Fairy, Ghost, and Dark.
  • Roserade: Cynthia’s Roserade is level 60 Pokemon. It is a Grass/Poison Pokemon and you can counter it using Fire, Flying, and Ice types.
  • Gastrodon: Another level 60 Pokemon from her team. Gastrodon is a Water/Ground Pokemon. That negates the electric weakness of the water type. In order to beat it, you could use the Pokemon that are Grass, Water, and Ice types. Although if possible go for Grass-type as it will be very strong against it.
  • Lucario: Lucario is level 63 and makes a notorious team with Cynthia. It is a Fighting/Steel Pokemon and as such the best counters for it are Fire, Fighting, and Ground-type Pokemon.
  • Milotic: Cynthia’s Milotic is level 63. It is a single-type Water Pokemon, so you can use Grass and Electric Pokemon against it.
  • Garchomp: A champion’s team feels incomplete without a dragon. Garchomp is the highest level pokemon in Cynthia’s team and is at level 66. And to make things worse it isn’t just Dragon-type it is a dual Dragon/Ground-type Pokemon. But you can easily counter it if you have any of the following types in your team Ice, Dragon, and Fairy.
