Both the blue & red books have to be kept separately to complete the Book Smarts quest in Nier Replicant. The red book’s place is on the second floor while you’ll need to place the blue book on the first floor of the library to complete this side quest.
To find the exact place to keep the red book for Book Smarts Quest In Nier Replicant, you’re going to need to get to the second floor. To do this, make sure to head towards the north from the NPC that gives you this quest, and after that go east. You will need to descend down the two flights of stairs and look for the orange arrow that is near the ladders that will take you up to the shelves. Place the red book there and go back to the NPC.

Now, to place the blue book for Book Smarts Quest In Nier Replicant, you will need to go all the way to the first floor. Once here make sure to position yourself in such a way that you’re facing the door of the library, now towards your left you should be able to see a bunch of kids, and left of them there should be a similar ladder. Place the blue book on the first shelf to the right of the ladders and you will have completed the Book Smarts quest in Nier Replicant.
