How To Check Pokedex In Pokemon Scarlet And Violet

Scarlet and Violet have a plethora of Pokemon for you to catch. As you are journeying across Paldea, you can get the new ninth generation of Pokemon. Like every previous iteration, the end goal is to fill your Pokedex by catching them all. These entry devices have evolved from generation to generation. In Scarlet and Violet, every entry appears as a book on a wooden shelf. Wondering how to check it? In this article, we will tell you how to open Pokedex in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to Open Pokedex in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

To open Pokedex in Scarlet and Violet, press the – Button on your Nintendo Switch. There, you can see All Pokemon, Recently Caught, and Recently Battled. The caught and battled sections will show five of each. By pressing the A button on the dex, you will enter a screen where you can check all Pokemon. They are stacked in numerical order but you can change it by pressing the – button. You can also check their habitat by scrolling to the Pokemon and pressing the + button. If you want to check the details of a Pokemon, you can scroll to it and press the A button. There, you will see the Pokemon card. Press the A button again to see the details. On this page, you will see:

  • Name
  • Type
  • Elemental Type
  • Description
  • Height
  • Weight

In Scarlet and Violet, you can also open the Pokedex on Map and Profile Menu by pressing the X button and selecting it. Apart from adding entries, you also get rewards for collecting a certain number of entries. These are called milestone rewards and you can check them by pressing the X button on the dex. You will get items like Fire Stone, Exp. Candy, Great Ball, Star Piece, and much more. These are valuable items so you have more incentive to catch and complete the dex.
