A prehistoric event in Grow a Garden is incomplete without an Amber mutation, and this one has 3 variants you need to know about. Here’s how to get the Amber mutation, as well as the new Old Amber and Ancient Amber versions, how much they boost the value multiplier and more.
How to Get Amber Mutations in Grow a Garden
To get the base Amber mutation, you can use the Amber mutation spray or get the Raptor pet.
Amber Mutation Spray: Get to the crafting area at the center of the map and interact with it to see the recipe. You need x1 Cleaning Spray (obtainable from the Gear Shop for 15 Million Sheckles), 1 Dinosaur Egg (obtainable by exchanging a pet), and 1 Million Sheckles. The crafting time is 1 hour and once it’s done, you can use the ‘Mutation Spray Amber’ on a high value plant you have to start to grow Amber.
The Raptor pet: This is one of the Legendary pets obtainable from the Dinosaur egg and has a 35% chance from the DNA converter.
It has two passives:
Clever Claws: 2% – 2.5% chance fruit gets Amber mutation after collecting. Rarer plants have a lesser chance to mutate.
Raptor Dance: Grants additional 14% – 14.5% increase to player movement speed.
With these in-game elements, you can get the base Amber mutation (10x multiplier) in Grow a Garden, but here’s how you can get Old Amber (x20 multiplier) and Ancient Amber (x50).
How to Get Old Amber and Ancient Amber Mutations
Players can obtain Old Amber automatically because after 24 hours, the Amber mutation will age into Old Amber. Similarly, after a certain amount of time (the specifics are currently unknown), the Old Amber mutation will age into Ancient Amber. So, it’s very important to not sell your harvest before the aging occurs.
Make sure to favorite the crops to avoid an accidental harvest, wait and keep an eye on them. Once you have stacked multiple rare mutations along with Ancient Amber, you will see that its price gets significantly improved.
