If you are wondering if there is a New Game Plus mode in Lords of the Fallen for you to continue with your Soulslike campaign through the lands of Mournstead, then don’t worry we have got you covered. In the latest soulslike title from Hexworks, players will embark on a quest to overthrow the demon god named Adyr while traversing through two parallel realms. Lords of the Fallen like any Soulslike title consists of tons of colossal bosses, dungeons, and lore that you can explore. While the game will take anywhere around 30 hours to complete, one begs the question, of whether there is content to explore after completing the first playthrough.
The NG+ mode allows players to carry over their best builds, items, etc to a whole new playthrough unlocking different areas, lores, and weapons in the game. However, there are a few things that you will have to keep in mind regarding how the NG+ mode works in Lords of the Fallen and what exactly carries over in the second playthrough. With that out of the way, check out this guide further to know more about it.
Is There a New Game Plus Mode in Lords of the Fallen?
Yes, there is a New Game Plus mode available for players to access in Lords of the Fallen. As confirmed by Saul Gascon, the head of Hexworks, and creative director Cezar Virtosu in an interview with mp1st, NG+ will be available for players after their first playthrough. Both the directors confirmed that there are quite a few surprises that players will come across in the form of additional areas & lore, environment changes, etc. Players can unlock the New Game Plus mode by completing their first playthrough and achieving any one of the multiple endings of Lords of the Fallen.
After around 30 hours of completing the first playthrough, players will be rewarded with the New Game Plus mode with increased difficulty and new areas and items to explore. We would recommend you grind your way through the first playthrough of Lords of the Fallen before accessing the NG+. Once you have explored enough of Mournstead and have completed all the side quests in the game, head over to the New Game Plus mode.
This will make things much easier and painless rather than jumping into the mode directly. After completing the New Game+ mode, players can once again go through the entire playthrough in the New Game++ in Lords of the Fallen.
What Carries Over in NG+?
There are quite a few items, stats & consumables that players can carry over to their next playthrough and into the New Game Plus mode in Lords of the Fallen:
- Weapons: Players will be able to carry over all of their weapons, ammunition, and tools they unlock during their first playthrough to the New Game Plus.
- Armor: Along with all the weapons, you will be able to carry all types of armor from heavy to light to the next playthrough. This will also include all the Armor Tincts and other items in the game.
- Items: While there are many different items in Lords of the Fallen, you will be able to take forward most of them. The items will include all the consumables from Salts and Cures to Perfume and Balm. Along with these items you can also carry over other items like Umbral Eyes in the game.
- Experience: Players will also be able to take forward all of their stats and XP gained throughout the first playthrough.
- Runes: Runes are items that can be equipped with different equipment for stats buffs in Lords of the Fallen. These magic items can also be carried over to the New Game Plus mode.
- Magic: There are different types of magic that players will come across during their first run of the game. The one they choose can be taken forward in the NG+ mode.
While players can take forward the above items with them in the next run, there are a few that will miss out. Players won’t be able to carry over these items in the New Game Plus mode in Lords of the Fallen:
- Keys
- Quest Related Items
- Rune of Adyr
- Shard of the Heroes
- Side Quests
- Stone of Divine Understanding
