Firstly, let’s clear out the items that are required to upgrade attributes, which are Virtual Cash (VC) and My Points. Now there is another requirement before you can upgrade attributes of your player, and this time it is the attribute cap. Attribute caps are the caps on how much you can upgrade a specific ability of a player.

Coming back on how to upgrade attributes in NBA 2K21, you can do it from the “Progression” tab in the MyCareer menu. From this tab, you can see a quick overview of your player’s current stats. Now all you need to do is simply go to the attribute that you need to upgrade.

Once on the relevant attribute, use the d-pad to increase the stats. Depending on the increment, there will be an amount shown on the screen. This amount is of the VC requirement.
