The Megalodon is a huge shark that can now be caught in Fisch. It’s a very tough catch and you’ll gain bragging rights when you end up getting it before your friends! From this guide, you’ll know the location to catch this Mythical fish and the best time, fishing rod, bait, weather and season.
How to Catch the Megalodon in Fisch (Location)
The Megalodon can be caught from the Ocean with any bait, weather and season. However, what you need to visit is the new island location of Ancient Isles and look for a dark storm cloud in the water nearby.
You will see the notification “Megalodon hunt has begun!” after which you can look for the cloud.
A Megalodon will be swimming in that area. If you have the fish radar enabled, you will see the area where you need to go and start fishing.

Best Fishing Rods to Catch Megalodon?
It appears that the Megalodon in Fisch weighs 30,000Kg or more, so you need a rod that can sustain its heavy weight. At this time, the best fishing rods will be the Kings Rod (which costs C$120,000 and is kept at the Keeper’s Altar), Steady Rod or the Rod of the Depths.
While the fishing mini-game is on, the Megalodon will keep circling you, and the process of reeling it in has a whopping -85% progress speed effect. This makes it extremely challenging and will take a long time to complete. However, using the Coral bait (that can be obtained from Coral Geodes) may help your resilience a little.
After successfully catching the Megalodon, a cutscene will get triggered and after it ends, you can hold it in your character’s hands and show it off!
So, if you don’t have enough money or haven’t done the steps to obtain the Rod of the Depths, make that a priority first and only then head out to take on the Megalodon in Fisch. Moreover, when you have a lot of in-game cash, you can keep appraising it at the Appraiser in Moosewood, until you get an effect that significantly boosts the Megalodon’s value.
