You may have already come across the Appraiser NPC in Moosewood, sitting near the Merchant you frequent to sell fish. When you interact with her, you see an option to ‘appraise’ a fish for 450C$ but that’s pretty much everything the game tells you at the beginning. Before you spend your hard-earned in-game money, here’s everything you need to know about Appraising in Roblox Fisch, how it works, and if it’s worth doing.
What is Appraising in Fisch?
Appraising is assessing the value or quality of something. So, when you bring a fish to the Appraiser, she can tell you the price of the fish before selling it to the Merchant. If you choose the option of “Can you appraise this fish?” there’s a low chance of increasing the value of the item you show her.
About her work, she explains, “I inspect it and re-evaluate its weight. Then I check for signs of it being a Shiny, Mutated or a Sparkling fish. And finally, return it back to you!”
For example, I tried appraising a Largemouth Bass, and its weight was depressed by 0.3kg and I received the title of Unlucky Better.
Then, I gave it another go, and this time, the Largemouth Bass’s weight was appraised by 1.7kg and I received the title of Lucky Roller.
During this, I did lose money, so it’s crucial to only do this for certain types of fish — more on this below.

Should you Appraise Fish in Fisch?
Since it’s a risk, it’s best to only appraise fish that are of the Mythic status without any mutations because you don’t want to lose the mutation. You can also consider appraising Event fish if you’re sure that it’s going to give you a better result, but since it costs 450C$, your best bet is to use this only on the best and highest-quality fish you’ve caught. You might have to keep appraising until you see a much better weight or stat, so it’s worth it only if you’ve got a lot of money farmed.
