Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder is a base race to reach the Max Level in the game. To reach the Max Level, you will grind through Mobs again and again. Although slaying Monsters and completing Quests gives EXP to Level Up, there are certain conditions and penalties when you gain EXP in Diablo 2 Resurrected. In this guide, I will explain What the Max Level or Character Limit is in Diablo 2 Resurrected and what you have to do to get there.
What is the Max Level Cap on a Character in Diablo 2 Resurrected (d2r)?
Well, the short and simple answer to this question is 99. The Max Level your Character will reach, or to put it, the Level Cap is 99 Levels in Diablo 2 Resurrected. To get to Level 99 you will need to get a total of 3,520,485,254 EXP points. You will need to grind a lot of runs to get this much EXP. Well, that’s the answer but it is not as simple as it seems. Blizzard has implemented EXP restrictions so that the grind isn’t as easy as it seems.
You gain EXP by killing Monsters and Bosses. But the amount you gain from each of them depends on your Level, The Monster’s Level, What Difficulty you are playing in, and many more factors. You gain EXP based on a percentage. To gain the most EXP from Mobs, you and the Mob must have a Level difference of 5 Levels higher or lower. Any more or less than that will apply an EXP Penalty.
EXP Gain Chart from Mobs concerning the Level Difference of the Player
The difference between you and the Mob you are fighting greatly affects your EXP Gain which is apparent by the Chart below:
- EXP Gain Percentage between Levels 1 to 25:
- Greater than equal to 10 Levels: 5% EXP
- 9 Levels: 15% EXP
- 8 Levels: 36% EXP
- 7 Levels: 68% EXP
- 6 Levels: 88% EXP
- 1 to -5 Levels: 100% EXP
- -6 Levels: 81% EXP
- -7 Levels: 62% EXP
- -8 Levels: 43% EXP
- -9 Levels: 24% EXP
- Lesser than equal to -10 Levels: 5% EXP
This is the amount of EXP you get for each Mob that fits in this Chart. For Levels above Level 25 it’s whole another level, pun intended. With Levels 25 to 69, there is no penalty if the Mob is a higher level than you; but if the Level is lower, then the penalty applies. The penalty percentage is the same as above if the Mob is between -6 and -10 or fewer Levels from yours. Here comes the kicker, the above penalties not only apply but each level from and after 70 has its Penalty. Yes, the EXP gain from here is gonna be miserable. Below are the penalties for each level from Level 70.
