Leveling Guide Diablo 2 Resurrected

Here is the best and easiest method to leveling and reach max level map 99 for all characters like Paladin, Sorceress, Necromancer, Barbarian, Druid, Amazon, and Assassin in Diablo 2 Resurrected:

  • 1 to 15 Levels – Trist Runs
  • 15 to 20 Levels – Tal Rasha’s Tomb
  • 20 to 24 Levels – Secret Cow Level
  • 24 to 25 Levels – Ancients Quest
  • 25 to 40 Levels – Baal Runs
  • 40 to 41 Levels – Nightmare Ancients
  • 41 to 60 Levels – Nightmare Baal Runs
  • 60 to 61 Levels – Hell Ancients
  • 61 to 99 Levels – Hell Baal Runs

Let’s look at these in a bit of detail below.

Levels 1 to 15 – Trist Runs

Tristram in Diablo 2 Resurrected can be accessed through a special portal opened within the circle of Cairn Stones in the Stony Field. This will be unlocked once through completing The Search for Cain quest in Act 1, where you have to visit Tristram to rescue Deckard Cain from the terrors of the hell unleashed. Once done you can either host or join other players with game names like Trist Run, Tristam 1, and so on. Keep playing this level to easily reach level 15 and then move on. Cause Trist Runs will not grant good enough experience beyond level 15.

Levels 15 to 20 – Tal Rasha’s Tomb

The next phase of leveling in Diablo 2 Resurrected involves you running the “True Tomb of Tal Rasha”. This can be accessed through the sixth and final quest of Act 2 called The Seven Tombs. Join a group of similar-minded players and you can easily rank up to level 20 in multiple runs. You could keep leveling up in Tal Rasha’s Tomb runs, but considering the capped exp you earn, you need to move to the next phase.

Levels 20 to 24 – Secret Cow Level

Secret Cow Level is hands down the best way to jump from lev 20 to 24 in a jiffy. The only problem to access it yourself is by killing Baal. More on this later. But you can join players who are ready to do secret cow level runs, and carry you ahead. And this is an important addition in Diablo 2 Resurrected, cause you can kill the Cow King, and still replay the Cow level as much as you want. Before in the original game, once you kill the Cow King, the level will be closed forever.

So now in D2R, you can play Cow Level from other players without any issue to reach clvl 24. Now if you are looking to open the Secret Cow level yourself, then we have got a sweet guide on how to do this if you have completed the game once. Also note that if you are not in the mood to explore the secret cow level, then you may continue Tal Rasha’s Tomb run till you reach level 24. But it will take longer than before, and you can get come good Runes from this level for new Runewords.

Level 24 to 25 – Normal Ancients

The next best part for leveling your character in Diablo 2 Resurrected is by playing games known as “Ancients Quest”, this will the final boss battle in “Rite of Passage quest” in Act 5. If you play your card smartly you can even do this level as a solo run without the help of other players. Once you beat all the three Ancients and turn them into golden statues, you will get a free level up for your character.

Levels 25 to 40 – Baal Runs

Once you are level 25, it’s time to do multiple Ball runs in normal mode. This is why you need to do the Ancients quest in level 24, cause with the free level up you can directly start doing the Baal runs. This is where you must spend your time till you reach level 40. Once you are level 40 then you will open up Nightmare Baal runs, will then you can play to reach clvl 60, which will be the requirement for Hell difficulty Baal runs.

Level 40 to 41 – Nightmare Difficulty Ancients

Instead of directly jumping to Nightmare Baal, we suggest you take up the Ancients quest in Nightmare difficulty to get that one valuable level up and not struggle in Baal runs at starting.

Levels 41 to 60 – Nightmare Difficulty Baal Runs

Now with all the experience you earned, you could respec and reset skill points and stats to get ready for Nightmare Baal Runs. The character builds you create now must be with the aim to beat Baal till clvl 60.

Level 60 to 61 – Hell Difficulty Ancients

As explained above, do not miss out on the free leveling in Hell difficulty and get yourself ready for the find rush ahead.

Levels 61 to 99 – Hell Difficulty Baal Runs

That’s it you have made it. From clvl 61 you just have to keep doing the Baal runs in Hell difficulty for leveling your character to the max level cap 99 in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Now for players who think jumping to and fro between levels and difficulties is too much work then we have a much simpler solution for, you but there are some Diablo 2 leveling stats you need to be aware of. So with that said lets look at Chaos Sanctuary runs.

The sweet spot to get 100% EXP is having a -5 to +5 level difference between your level and the enemy monsters.
