The Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan side quest is one of the longest in Tears of the Kingdom. The side quest starts as soon as you beat Master Kohga at the Great Abandoned Central Mine in The Depths. After beating him, you will also unlock the Autobuild ability. You will be free to undertake the side quest anytime. Keep in mind that the side quest will include three Master Kohga boss fights at different locations. While beating Master Kohga is tricky, finding his location can become confusing too. However, our guide will show you how to complete the Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan side quest in Zelda TOTK.
How to Complete Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan Side Quest in TOTK
How to Beat Master Kohga at Abandoned Gerudo Mine
For the first part of the Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan quest, you will need to head to the Gerudo Mine at the coordinates (-3858, -2906, -0487). Once you reach here, you will find Master Kohga using a flying mech to attack you. The best way to beat Master Kohga here is by having an aerial advantage over him. You can do this by using the Zonai Spring lying in the arena. Use it to gain higher ground and shoot your arrows at Master Kohga. He will immediately be stunned and land on the ground. Quickly use your melee weapon and start dealing several hits while Master Kohga is stunned. Rinse and repeat this a few times to beat Master Kohga and complete the first part of the “Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan” quest.
Abandoned Lanayru Mine – How to Beat Master Kohga
The next boss fight will require you to reach the Abandoned Lanayru Mine which is located at coordinates (3252, 0588 -0750). This time, the battle will take place on the water. Master Kohga will be on a boat and will attack you along with his two Yiga clan members.
The trick here is to get on a makeshift boat, go close to Master Kohga’s boat and shoot arrows to stun him. Then, immediately jump onto the boat and land melee attacks on a stunned Master Kohga. He will disappear and respawn on another boat within the small pond. For the next phase, he might use a shield so you will need to break it first. Thereafter, you can repeat the same process by jumping onto his boat and attacking him with your melee weapon. If you follow the above method, you will easily beat Master Kohga at the Abandoned Lanayru Mine. Now, all that remains is the last boss fight in the Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan quest.
How to Beat Master Kohga in Abandoned Hebra Mine
The final part of the Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan quest in TOTK will take place at the Abandoned Hebra Mine. This mine is located in the Depths at coordinates (-3591, 1821, -0420). For this boss fight, Master Kohga will be using a Construct. Steer clear of his attacks, they might be slow but can take a huge chunk of Link’s HP.
Shoot your arrows at Master Kohga who is seated atop the mech. A few hits will send him falling down to the ground. Quickly use a melee weapon and rain blows on Master Kohga. After a few strikes, he will get up and sit atop the construct again. This time Master Kohga will have a shield covering himself. Wait for a while for the shield to go away and then rinse and repeat. Once the boss fight ends, you will beat Master Kohga and complete the quest.
